The founders, Lokendra Ranawat, Virendra Ranawat and Dinesh Pratap Singh, started with a simple yet profound mission – to empower customers to design their dream homes by offering fully customizable furniture. Through extensive research and engagement with customers, they realized that the market lacked personalized furniture options that met both high-quality standards and affordability. Wooden Street filled this gap by focusing on in-house R&D and manufacturing, bringing innovation directly to consumers. Wooden Street adopted a direct-to-consumer (D2C) approach, offering customers furniture solutions that seamlessly blend with their lifestyle, through an easy-to-use online platform, backed by physical stores in major cities. Today, with 101 stores across India, Wooden Street is closer than ever to delivering the best of both worlds – the convenience of online shopping with the assurance of personalized in-store experiences. Wooden Street first secured seed capital of US$1 Mn from RVCF in 2018. The next round of investment was with IAN in 2020 in which the company raised $3 million in a Series A funding. In 2022, Wooden Street secured Series B funding of $30 million from WestBridge Capital. These investments are being used to strengthen manufacturing capabilities, scale operations, and enhance our technology-driven, customer-first approach.
